MIDLAND, TX — In Midland yesterday, some are tired of Beto O’Rourke. His campaign stop was interrupted by jeers and cheers from the opposition as O’Rourke attempted to calm the protestors by offering some of them an opportunity to speak.
Watch:
Meanwhile, located near the rear of the room, independent videographer and to some, agent provocateur, filmed his own run-ins with loyal supporters of O’Rourke. Eventually, one of the O’Rourke supporters told the Midland police that the videographer, who goes by the Twitter handle 4RickyG, assaulted him or her. He was cuffed while MPD officers investigated the incident.
4RickyG claimed O’Rourke was going to allow him to speak prior to his arrest.
Kate Porter at CBS7 was at the rally and asked the videographer who was detained to contact her for a possible followup story.
In the 4RickyG's video below, slip to the 13-minute mark to watch MPD take the MAGA videographer into custody:
Falsely accused by Beto supporter | ILLEGALY detained by MPD
O’Rourke was in Midland for a campaign rally Wednesday evening at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center. This is part of his 49-day Drive for Texas tour. O’Rourke also visited Pecos Wednesday.
As the campaign for the November 8 election between incumbent Governor Greg Abbott and Democrat Beto O’Rourke heats up, west Texas communities are expected to play an outsized role in choosing the winner. Traditionally deep red west Texas is critical for Republicans like Abbott to overcome the blue urban centers with pink outer rings. O’Rourke trails Abbott by only 5 percentage points in the latest gubernatorial poll released July 7 by the University of Houston.
