SAN ANGELO – San Angelo City Council member Tom Thompson has endorsed Lane Carter for Tom Green County Judge in the May 24 GOP Primary Runoff Election.
Below is Thompson's letter of support for Lane Carter:
In the March 24th County Judge election, I am endorsing Lane Carter.
Mr. Carter has medical experience as a nurse with institutional knowledge from working at Shannon Medical Center and was continually involved in the city’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic through his council seat position.
As a medical professional, he has the background and experience as a key first responder.
He owns and operates a successful private business that buys, remodels, rents, and develops properties. Before his announcement to run for County Judge, I witnessed his expertise as a property owner when reviewing permits, variances, zoning, right of way, and reasonable property tax values when he served on the San Angelo City Council.
His business knowledge is through the positive growth of his company. His dedication to public safety is vital as he constantly communicated and sought out feedback from the staff at COSA, and the Police and Fire Departments. Likewise, he will ask and seek input from county co-workers on where the next stage of improvements can be quickly and easily facilitated.
In the end, I see Lane Carter as the candidate with the most first-hand experience as a public servant and official. I have witnessed his dedication to his family, job, and commitment to all city constituents, regardless of their name or address.
I know Lane will listen to input and work for Tom Green County’s best interest.
Tom Thompson
