SAN ANGELO – There are three local runoff elections on the May 24 Republican Party Primary Runoff Election Ballot and San Angelo LIVE! is hosting a Conversation with the Candidates today, Wednesday, April 27 at 6 p.m. in the Sugg room on the third floor of the Stephens Central Library downtown.
The forum will feature all six local candidates on the ballot: Todd Kolls and Lane Carter for Tom Green County Judge; Bill Ford and Shawn Nanny for Tom Green County Commissioner Pct. 4; and Stacye Speck and Ron Perry for Tom Green County Justice of the Peace Pct. 3.
The forum will be a conversation between the two candidates for each office and the moderator over broad topics about the office they are seeking. Candidates will be invited and encouraged to question each other.
The forum will begin with the Justice of the Peace candidates for 20 minutes, shift to the candidates for County Commissioner for 30 minutes and finish with the candidates for County Judge in a 40 minute conversation with the moderator.
All the local candidates have also answered a San Angelo LIVE! questionnaire and those questionnaires will be published Saturday, April 30, 2022.

The Conversation with the Candidates forum presented by San Angelo LIVE! is Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 6 p.m. in the Sugg Room on the third floor or the Stephens Central Library downtown. The event will be live-streamed on San Angelo LIVE!, YouTube and Facebook. The event is free and open to the public with limited seating. Yantis Green will serve as moderator.
The Runoff election is Tuesday, May 24, 2022. Early voting runs from May 16 to May 20. There are several statewide runoff elections on the May 24 ballot as well. The winners of the Runoff election will be on the general election ballot Nov. 1, 2022 and the winner of the election will be sworn into office on January 1, 2023 to serve four year terms.
