Texas Ag Commissioner Sid Miller Endorses Buckingham for Land Commissioner

AUSTIN, TX – Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller announced his endorsement of Senator Dawn Buckingham (R-Lakeway) Thursday in the Republican runoff for Texas Land Commissioner. Buckingham garnered a strong 41.8% of the vote in the crowded, eight-way Republican Primary for Land Commissioner, and faces Tim Westley in the runoff election on May 24.

“Just like me, Dawn Buckingham has been 100% Team Trump from the very beginning,” said Miller. “She’s the fighter we need at the General Land Office to protect our Texas history from the woke radical Democrats, take care of our brave veterans, and stop Joe Biden’s attack on our oil and natural gas industry that’s driving up prices at the pump. That is why she has the support of President Donald J. Trump and why I’m proud to endorse her for Texas Land Commissioner too.”

As Texas Agriculture Commissioner, Sid Miller has led the Texas Department of Agriculture since 2014. Miller has focused on improving the efficiency of the Department of Agriculture’s inspection operations and cutting wasteful spending to save Texas taxpayers money. Like Buckingham, Miller previously served in the Texas Legislature before running for statewide office.

“Sid Miller is a great Agriculture Commissioner for the state of Texas and a strong, pro-Trump Republican,” said Buckingham. “I’m glad to call Sid a friend and thankful to have his support in this campaign. Together, we’ll fight hard to keep Texas RED this fall!”

Dr. Dawn Buckingham is an experienced oculoplastic surgeon, an avid hunter, a seventh-generation Texan, and a lifelong conservative Republican. In 2016, Buckingham was elected to represent District 24 in the Texas Senate, a 17-county region of West Texas and the Texas Hill Country. Dawn and her husband Ed (also a surgeon) have two children in college and reside in Lakeway, Texas.
