Judge Who's Ex-husband Shot a Man to Death on Viral Graphic Video Is Voted Out of Office

 

LUBBOCK, TX – A Lubbock County District Judge who's husband was the subject of a viral video showing him shooting another man to death has been voted out of office.

According to the secretary of states office, on Mar. 1, John Grace defeated Ann-Marie Carruth 13,847 to 11,881.

Carruth was the incumbent in the race for the 72nd District Judge. There are no democrats in the running so Grace will be sworn in on Jan. 1.

Carruth was recently in the news after her now ex-husband shot and killed a man in Lubbock.

No arrests were made in the shooting. The attorney general's office has taken over the investigation from the Lubbock Police Department.

Carruth was appointed to the office in Jan. 2021 after the previous judge, Ruben G. Reyes, died of COVID-19.
