SAN ANGELO – San Angelo attorney Don Payne has endorsed Andrew Graves for Tom Green County Court at Law #2 Judge in the March Republican Primary.
Here is Payne's endorsement letter of Graves exclusive to San Angelo LIVE!:
"Fellow Citizens of Tom Green County:
It is my privilege and honor to endorse Andrew Graves for election as Judge of Tom Green County Court at Law 2. Seldom do we see a candidate so qualified and prepared by experience, skill, knowledge, and commitment to our community as Andrew. This is critically important, particularly now, after the Covid-19 pandemic, for the next Judge of the Tom Green County Court at Law 2.
Moving cases and clearing backlogs in the courts caused by the pandemic are of paramount importance to our county and its citizens who depend on timely and orderly administration and resolution of the varied civil, probate, guardianship, and misdemeanor criminal – to name just a few – matters that fall under the jurisdiction of the Court.
With vast and varied experience in law practice over the past 20 years, including criminal prosecution and defense, probate, estate planning, civil litigation, and general practice, Andrew is the only candidate qualified, prepared, to hit the ground running on day one, and have an immediate, positive impact on the Court's current docket and backlog. Broad experience, strong work ethic, respect for litigants and court personnel, personal humility, and a balanced and inherently fair approach to decision making, are characteristics we should look for in a judge.
Andrew possesses all of these.
Andrew's commitment to public service, demonstrated over his career by community involvement and service on boards of directors of various organizations benefitting our community, will continue in service on the Court. Two areas of Andrew's public service as an attorney stand out to me. His commitment and skill defending indigent criminal defendants has served our community and has earned him the respect and endorsement of the San Angelo Police Department PAC and numerous law enforcement officers and officials. His commitment to families through years of service representing children and indigent parents in the Child Protection Courts has made a real, positive difference in the lives of many children and families. Both have earned him the respect of his fellow attorneys and helped him prepare for service to our community on the Court.
For me, the choice is clear. I'm supporting Andrew Graves for Judge, Tom Green County Court at Law 2. I hope you'll join me and vote for Andrew on March 1, 2022."
Sincerely,
Don Payne
Attorney
