SAN ANGELO – Early voting is now underway for the Republican and Democrat primary elections where candidates will be selected by party voters for the November 2022 general election.
The Texas Legislature enacted the voter integrity law which made several significant changes to the way votes are cast and counted in Texas.
Tom Green County voters will notice a difference inside the polling place but for early voting, the most noticeable change is that there are five early voting locations instead of one.
Voters can cast ballots Feb. 14 through Feb. 25 at any of the following locations:
- Elections Office in the Keyes Building downtown
- Concho Valley Transit (Bus Station) at 510 N. Chadbourne
- Westlake Ace hardware, 1821 Knickerbocker Rd.
- Grape Creek ISD Administration Building 8207 . US 87 in Grape Creek
- MHMR Services 1501 W. Beauregard
The hours for early voting are as follows:
Feb. 14 - 18 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 19 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Sunday, Feb. 20 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Feb. 22 – 25 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Mid-term elections in Texas include U.S. Congressman, Texas Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, Comptroller, Land Commissioner, Ag Commissioner, Railroad Commissioner, Texas Supreme Court Justices places 3,5,9; Court of Criminal Appeals places 2,5,6; State Board of Education, State Senator, and State Representative.
The first part of the ballot includes all of the above offices before listing the local races.
Local offices up for election include Tom Green County Judge, Court at Law #1 and #2 Judge, District Clerk, County Clerk, Treasurer, County Commissioner Pct. 2 and Pct.4, Justice of the Peace in Pct. 1, 2, 3, and 4, and Chairman of the County Party.
