SAN ANGELO – Two incumbent Republicans in Tom Green county got a surprise Monday evening; opponents in the March 1, 2022 GOP Primary.
According to the Tom Green County Elections website, Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace Susan Werner is now challenged by Tom Green County Jail Lt. Levi Vance.
County Clerk Christina Ubando is now challenged by San Angelo Realtor Lupe Gomez.
There are no local Democratic candidates in that Party Primary March 1 in Tom Green County.
The deadline to file for a place on the ballot in the Republican or Democratic Primary was 6 p.m. Monday.

Candidates running for County Judge in the Republican Primary are: Todd Kolls, Joe Hyde, Tommy Usery and Lane Carter.
Candidates running for County Commissioner in Pct. 4 are: Incumbent Bill Ford, Coco Simpson, Lori Wilson, Dustin Barton, Shawn Nanny and Derrick Garnett.
Candidates running for Justice of the Peace in Pct. 1 are: Incumbent Susan Werner, Levi Vance.
Candidates running for Justice of the Peace in Pct. 2 are: Thomas Daniel and Christopher Duerstine.
Candidates running for Justice of the Peace in Pct. 3 are: Stacye Speck, Ron Perry and Martha Muro.
Candidates running for County Court-at-law Judge Place 2 are: Leland Lacy and Andrew Graves.
