Gov. Abbott Meets Exclusively with Supporters in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO – Texas Governor Greg Abbott met with supporters at a fundraising luncheon Tuesday at the La Grande Alumni Center on the Angelo State University Campus in San Angelo.

Abbott discussed many issues including the border and the Biden administration during the event.

Abbott said of the Biden administration, "We are fighting back against this Socialistic agenda sweeping across the entire country," like defunding police which he called an idiotic policy.

"In Texas we support out law enforcement officers period."

On border security, the Gov. said, "During this time last year is when all these Democratic candidates were running for President of the United States.  They had all the Democratic candidates on the same stage which includes Biden and Kamala Harris and Beto O'Rourke.  They were all asked to raise their hand if they support open borders.  And they all raised their hands."

Even after Biden was elected, most Americans had no idea what they really envisioned when they talked about open borders."

"Beto talked about giving people who crossed the border illegally free health care and tuition.  Let me tell you something.  If we are going to start giving things away for free, it won't be to people coming across the border.  We need to give free health care to the men and women who've worn the uniform of our United States Military."

Abbott is being challenged in the 2022 GOP primary by former Congressman and Texas Republican Party of Texas Chairman Allen West, former state Senator Don Huffines, and entertainer Chad Prather.
