San Angelo Police Officer's PAC Makes No Endorsement in Mayoral Race

SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo Police Officer's Political Action Committee announced endorsements for the upcoming May 1 election recently.

According to the PAC's co-chair Sgt. Cannady, on Apr. 26, the San Angelo Police Officer's PAC endorsed Tom Thompson, Billie DeWitt, and Lucy Gonzales for City Council.

All three are incumbent council members.

"While we do not always make an endorsement in a specific race," stated Cannady.  "When we do choose to announce an endorsement of a candidate it is because we feel they are best suited for the position."

The PAC has endorsed a number of candidates in the past including newly elected Sheriff of Tom Green County, Nick Hanna, and Congressman August Pfluger.

Although the PAC endorsed every incumbent, they decided to not back anyone in the Mayoral race.

"In municipal elections we endorse the candidates that we feel best serve the interests of the citizens of San Angelo and the men and women of the San Angelo Police Department," stated Cannady.

Where the PAC's money goes usually indicates who has the upper hand in the election.

"We wish the mayoral candidates the best of luck in the coming election," stated Cannady.

The election will be held Saturday. Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.

Epic. Now the mayor knows what the people of San Angelo think of her. Even to police force spoke. Thanks to the boys in blue for once
