Gov. Abbott Declines Throwing Out the First Pitch – Blames MLB

AUSTIN, TX – Governor Greg Abbott Monday sent a letter to the Texas Rangers baseball organization declining the invitation to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the their home opening game.

The Governor cited Major League Baseball's (MLB) decision to perpetuate false political narratives by moving the MLB All-Star Game from Atlanta in response to Georgia's new election integrity laws.

Governor Abbott also noted that he will no longer participate in any event held by MLB, and that the State of Texas will not seek to host the All-Star game or any other MLB special events.

"Major League Baseball adopted what has turned out to be a false narrative about the election law reforms in Georgia, and, based on that false narrative, moved the MLB All-Star game from Atlanta," reads the letter. "It is shameful that America’s pastime is not only being influenced by partisan political politics, but also perpetuating false political narratives. This decision does not diminish the deep respect I have for the Texas Rangers baseball organization, which is outstanding from top to bottom."

Looks like all political pro sports ticket prices will plummet and thats just fine.
They will never see 1 cent of my money ever again.
I will keep my money involved with local sport events.

"The Governor cited Major League Baseball's (MLB) decision to perpetuate false political narratives by moving the MLB All-Star Game from Atlanta in response to Georgia's new election integrity laws."

Then Abbott makes it even more political by announcing publicly that he is trying to cancel the MLB. It is all projection from the terrorist republicans.

If anyone thinks that Georgia's latest election laws have anything to do with "election integrity" then you really need to do some reading. It is a voter suppression law, we know this because there is no proof that there was any fraud regarding the election, 60+ court cases were thrown out for lacking validity (some by trumps own judges). Republicans are upset that they lost legitimately so they will now start to cheat. Making it harder to vote is un-democratic and un-American, but I would expect nothing less from the terrorist republicans who tried (and failed miserably) to take over the government to install a reality show host as dictator on the 6th of January.

Why are you hiding who you are first of all? Worried about backlash?

Citing a music publication article isn’t sufficient grounds for your argument. They have never been great at being unbiased and you’re clearly biased yourself, Democrat much?

Voter Identification and verification are far from suppression and if they do anything they reduce the chance of false mail ins and voters in general, despite Democrat’s thinking that blacks and Hispanics are too stupid or incapable access such resources, even former Vice President Biden is documented stating it regularly. Yet you people say everyone else is racist and evil, give me a break.

"Why are you hiding who you are first of all? Worried about backlash?"

Are you saying that terrorist republicans would do something to harm me if they knew who I was just because I expressed my opinion? That is very telling indeed. Why would I want a bunch of terrorists that already tried to take over the government (and failed miserably) to know who I am?

Alright, what about republicans closing polling places and shortening the time allowed to vote? What about them being able to take over the election board if they don't like the outcome?

If you read what I originally said I never said anything about racism or identification, you guys are the ones perpetuating a red herring, and it is obvious.

That fact that you’re crazy enough to believe people are coming after you at all is insane, besides ANTIFA AND  BLM (groups created by Democrats that have caused over $2 Billion in damages and killed numerous people, civilians and police) and you have the balls to talk crap about any group of people being terrorists.

You’re still citing organizations that perpetuate the same ideas and no original thought and ignore other serious issues that are happing. Like the guy that rammed the barrier in DC and as soon they found out he was black and was following the radical teaching of Farrakhan, the media and your goddess AOC, cut the stories and moved to something else. Which just so happened to be this malarkey.

Don’t have to say it’s related to discrimination, because you guys always  bring it up and apparently you haven’t heard Georgia Democrats talking, you haven’t been listening to sleepy Joe, they all say it’s racist and discriminatory. And who says I’m Republican? Just because there’s to big parties doesn’t mean I can’t believe in something else. I’m definitely not Dem. but lean more Rep, but really more,  moderate. If anything progressive republican if had to be a party.

And you people are always worried about attribution. I say what I mean, I don’t apologize for it.

I’M RUNNING FOR CITY COUNCIL SMD 6. IF YOU’RE TIRED OF PEOPLE NOT SPEAKING OUT AND WANT PEOPLE BEING HONEST TO YOUR FACE, PLUS LOOKING FOR SOME YOUTH. VOTE FOR ME. "ANTIFA" isn't an organization, trumps own FBI said so,

https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/fbi-director-antifa-ideology-organization-73077727

BLM isn't affiliated with any political group,

Besides, terrorist republicans tried (and failed miserably) to take over the government to install a reality show host as dictator on the 6th of January. Trump himself said they were his people, and the ones who were arrested said they were there on trumps orders.

Those terrorist republicans that trump said were his people and said themselves they were there on trumps orders also beat a cop to death.

Oh the humanity! Lol. To ignorant demo libs, “voter suppression” means having to show identification in order to cast a vote.

Republicans also closed polling places, shortened the time people are allowed to vote, purged voter registrations, and allowed themselves to take over the election board if they don't like the outcome. You guys are only focusing on the one thing that probably means the least as a way of shifting focus from the really major stuff.

I never said anything about voter ID.

Hey I have an idea! Get off your dead ass and go stand in line to vote like everyone else. Or if for some reason you can’t, request an absentee ballot beforehand which requires identification ;)

You never said anything about racism? Give me a break! The headline of one of the articles you linked is “Georgia’s ‘Jim Crow’ voter suppression bill is now law”.

If you don’t know this is about voter ID then you’re dumber than I thought ;) Besides, unlike voting rules that were unconstitutionally changed prior to the presidential election, this was done the RIGHT way and passed by state legislators.

To ME it isn't about voter ID, but all of the other restrictions they have put in place. But let me ask you (or anyone) a question. Would you be alright with an ID that was free? As in, a government approved ID that could be used to vote, but was paid for with tax dollars so that people that wouldn't otherwise be able to get an ID due to the cost would still be able to vote? It would also open up other possibilities such as being able to get a job (most require ID as well.) Would that be an acceptable compromise?

I’m fine with that. Not sure about other states, but available in Georgia through your county registrars office.
