Poll: Majority of Texas Latinos Would Vote Biden

NEW YORK, NY -- According to a nationwide poll released on Monday by SOMOS US, UnidosUS and Latino Decisions, 66 percent of Latinos would choose Vice President Joe Biden compared to 24 percent who would vote for President Trump.

According to the poll, Biden leads in double-digits with Latinos in key battleground states:

In both the New York, New Jersey, and California, Biden has the support of 70 percent of Latinos polled.

The poll, conducted between August 7-15, found at Latinos are increasingly blaming Trump for his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The poll also showed significant movement from May of this year. The Latino community continues to be doubly-impacted by COVID-19 which has surged in Latino-rich swing states in the Sun Belt.

"Disproportionate" is the defining word for what Latinos are experiencing. We are overrepresented among essential workers helping America survive the pandemic, yet being left out of health and economic relief while a disproportionate number in our community are getting sick and dying," said Janet Murguia, President, and CEO of UnidosUS.

According to Latino Decision, the poll found that the impact Latinos are experiencing also extends to education with more than 80 percent of Latino households being concerned about back-to-school plans.

Nearly 8 in 10 parents are worried that their kids are falling behind academically due to distance learning. Eighty-four percent said their schools had not provided technological assistance. 

According to the poll, 38 percent said that there weren't enough computers in the home for their children to use for online schooling and 36 percent said that there wouldn’t be an adult in the home to supervise.

"As the school year begins, eight in ten respondents said their children’s schools are not providing technological assistance, and need to provide basic information about their children’s progress," said Murguia. "And as the parties head into their conventions, 64% of registered Latino voters said they have not heard from parties or candidates. Equitable relief, and meaningful outreach, must happen immediately.”

According to the poll, disapproval of the President’s handling of the pandemic among Latinos in increasing:

70% disapprove, up from 56% in May. 

Trump’s trust level has fallen from 3.3 to 3.1 since May on a scale from 1-10

50% of all Latinos have lost income due to pay cuts, job loss, and/or having to close a business they own.

"As the coronavirus pandemic has dragged on, Latino voters are connecting the crisis back to President Trump. Latinos now clearly blame Trump's delays and mismanagement for making the crisis worse and this is going to have a big effect at the ballot box this November,” said Gary Segura, Ph.D., Latino Decisions Co-Founder, and Senior Partner.

Perhaps the majority of Latino voters can see Trump exactly as he is, a morally bankrupt, egomaniacal, pathological liar. The fact that he has managed to convince most of his conservative Christian supporters that he believes in their core values is truly mind boggling. Add to this his deep admiration of the leaders of decidedly anti- American nations like North Korea , China and Russia and mindless opposition of anyone that dares to question him and you have the perfect recipe for four more years of domestic and international division and chaos that our once proud country cannot possibly withstand without dire consequences.

I think the article's author meant to write "Latinxs." It's Latinx voters who are discontent with the U.S. president. There will be write-in ballots for subcommandante Marcos, Che Guevarra, or Fidel Castro mailed directly to the White House in protest.

Just vote for the old codger who has the verbal acuity of a toddler who's learning to string together rudimentary sentences about the need for a cookie or new diaper, and the radical adulterer who slept her way into politics with a married sexagenarian. I'm sure the country will be all the better for it.

As for Trump, I guess I can join the chorus of my ill-informed, ignorant brethren, and blame him for the Covid crisis, as he's clearly behind our local, organized weekly gatherings of 15-25 unmasked Latinos, living it up with deafening house parties into the wee hours of the morning -- when he's not stealing mailboxes, of course.

It would be a little funny reading some of these rants, with the exception of 1-2!
Why anyone would even consider voting for anybody that has served for 40 yrs in government and still blames everything on everybody else! Biden can hardly finish a sentence and when he does he can’t remember what he was talking about.. Kamala H. Had already admitted to sending people to prison with fake evidence and lies, admitted adulterous. Is she not the main reason some Democrats are wanting to defund police! How about we get rid of the liars, cheats and politicians from the justice system and fix it!
I am not a D. Trump fan as a person but at least he is attempting to do what’s right for this country, unlike the entire Democratic Party and a lot of other life time politicians that have sat on there asses and lined there own pockets and gotten filthy rich while in office!!

I hope these 60-70% of Latinos can be educated that a vote for Biden is a vote for Bernie Sanders socialism/ communism. (Look up NY post article, “Biden, Bernie Sanders manifesto”)

The green new deal is straight up government control and communism, taking over much of our economy and way of life.

Countless employers will be bankrupted and the economy will probably crash.

Communism does not work, never has, never will.
