Congressional Candidate Pfluger Raises $700K in 18 DaysPress Release
SAN ANGELO, TX – On Tuesday, Republican congressional candidate Lt. Col. August Pfluger (R-San Angelo) announced that his campaign will report more than $700,000 raised in just 18 days.
Pfluger’s first campaign finance report filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) shows the former combat pilot and Trump national security council advisor raised a staggering $704,910 since September 12 – the date Pfluger formally launched his bid to represent Texas’ 11th Congressional District. In the filing, the campaign also reported it had accepted no loans and incurred no campaign debt according to a press release.
“As a combat pilot, and later as a national security advisor to President Donald Trump, I’ve spent my life defending this country,” said Pfluger. “Now, I’m running for Congress to defend our traditional Texas values and the things that have always made this country great: family, faith, and freedom.”
According the report, nearly 80% of Pfluger’s campaign contributions come from donors in Texas’ 11th Congressional District, demonstrating substantial homegrown support for the Air Force veteran and San Angelo native. Pfluger is running for the seat currently held by U.S. Representative Mike Conaway (R-Midland), who announced earlier this year that he would not seek a ninth term in 2020.
“I’ve spent the last three weeks driving across the 29 counties of the district, and the response to our conservative campaign has been nothing short of remarkable,” continued Pfluger. “Camille and I have been humbled by the amazing people of this community who have invited us into their homes and given what they can to help us defend our traditional Texas values in Washington, DC.”
Lt. Col. August Pfluger is an Air Force officer and fighter pilot who served his country in uniform for nearly two decades – commanding hundreds of airmen and serving in both the Pentagon and NATO Command. Today, Pfluger is a decorated combat veteran with over 300 hours of direct action against radical jihadists in the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
In 2019, August was called to serve his nation in a different capacity – as a national security advisor to President Donald J. Trump. As a member of the White House National Security Council staff, August was entrusted with our nation’s highest security clearance and charged with advising President Trump on a host of foreign and domestic threats to our nation’s security.
August Pfluger is a seventh-generation Texan, a conservative Republican, a proud husband and father, and a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. He met his wife, Camille (also a native Texan) at his family ranch in October 2000. They have three young daughters, Vivian, Caroline, and Juliana.
