Pfluger grew up in San Angelo and thanked those who came out to support the kickoff of his District 11 tour.
"I played baseball in Western Little League, I went to church at Trinity Lutheran, and I played football at Central High School," said Pfluger. "I can't tell you what it means to look out into the crowd and see so many friendly faces, family and community members that have supported me since elementary school."

Before launching his political career Pfluger spent nearly 20 years in the U.S Air Force, serving in combat, at the Pentagon, and in NATO Command. He is a decorated combat veteran and spent over 300 hours of direct action in Iraq & Syria.
"Through every assignment, every deployment, and every new location it was the values of hard work, persistence and true Texas grit that we learned right here which built a solid foundation from which to serve."
In addition to his military career, Pfluger also served on the staff in the National Security Council in the Trump administration.
"While still an active-duty officer, I had the honor and responsibility of serving in the National Security Council for President Trump. Helping guide our leaders in the development of national security policy for the White House Situation Room."
Pfluger pledged his case in front of supporters and letting them know why he felt it was necessary to run for office and represent the district. District 11 had been previously held by Representative Mike Conway, who announced he would not be seeking re-election at the end of July.

"When I was commissioned as an officer in the Air Force almost twenty years ago, I swore to protect and defend the constitution of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic. I don't like to believe that I risked my life defending this country over the smoke-filled skies of Syria and Iraq only to lose the fight here at home."
