He said he would be an advocate for a strong oil and gas industry, an advocate for securing the U.S.-Mexico border, and will be an ally of President Donald J. Trump’s “America First” agenda.
He is a graduate of Midland Lee High School and earned his BBA in finance from UT-Permian Basin.
In this interview, we discuss the issues that Lacy has faced on the Midland City Council, including the controversial Midland Spaceport. He served as president of the Midland Spaceport Development Corp. Yet, in this interview notes that the decision to fund the development of the Spaceport—at a cost of over $20 million—was decided before he was on Midland City Council. Now that the project is complete, however, Lacy believes the Spaceport designation for the airport situated between Midland and Odessa is fostering economic diversification to the region.
