SAN ANGELO, TX -- Republican political consultant and nationally recognized political commentator Karl Rove was the keynote speaker at the Tom Green County Republican Party's Reagan Day Dinner in the C.J. Davidson Center at Angelo State University Saturday.
According to TGC GOP Chairman Jeff Betty, about 170 people paid to listen to Rove discuss the current status of Republican national politics.
Rove encouraged Republicans to reach out to the unregistered Republicans statewide.
Rove recognized that Tom Green County did better than most counties across the country in the midterm elections.
According to his website, Rove wrote in an op-ed on Thursday that the Trump administration, following the Mueller report which found no Russian collusion, should now switch focus to issues voters are concerned about, "Team Trump should use the Mueller report to pivot to issues, like the economy and the opioid crisis, that matter to swing voters who will decide the 2020 presidential election."
Former President George W. Bush called Rove the 'Architect' for orchestrating his wins twice as governor of Texas and in the 2000 and 2004 Presidential campaigns.
