SAN ANGELO, TX -- Former El Paso Congressman and neophyte Democrat Presidential Candidate Robert Francis O'Rourke is experiencing what happens to a presidential campaign front runner. O'Rourke has been hammered over the last day or so by critics from both sides of the political spectrum; the Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas issued a press release strongly condemning O'Rourke as a Socialist as he takes the lessons he learned from his failed U.S. Senate campaign to his semi-grassroots learn-on-the-fly campaign for the Democratic Party's nomination for the nation's highest office forward.
In the meantime, fellow Texan and former San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro is desperately trying to lift his own status and is failing badly.
O'Rourke has a criminal record. He has a mugshot. And he has fifteen liberal democratic opponents who have more experience than he does and who what the same job.
O'Rourke is being labeled as the charismatic candidate in the mold of Barack Obama in the 2020 Presidential race for the Democrat party nomination.
And on St. Patrick's Day, Robert Francis O'Rourke is Irish.
