SAN ANGELO, TX -- Voters in Tom Green County head to the polls today to select a new County Commissioner in Precinct Two and to select nominees for statewide offices and for Congress in the November general election.
Tana Sue Pyssen and Sammy Farmer are running for the County Commissioner seat being vacated by Aubrey DeCordova who has served three terms. There is no candidate in the Democrat primary, so the winner of today’s Republican primary will be sworn in as Pct. 2 County Commissioner on January 1, 2019. The race for Pct 2 County Commissioner is the only contested local race on the ballot.

Of the over 64,000 registered voters in Tom Green County, 2,620 cast ballots during early voting. According to the Elections office, 1,655 voters requested ballots by mail and 1,312 returned them to be counted.
510 registered voters cast ballots in the Democrat primary during early voting and 2110 voters cast ballots in the Republican primary. 381 voters cast ballots by mail in the Democrat primary while 931 cast ballots in the Republican primary by mail.
