Justice of the Peace Susan Werner Loves her Job

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Susan Werner worked as a clerk in the Justice of the Peace office for nine years before she was appointed Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 in Tom Green County in December of 2016.  Now, she’s running for the office she’s held for over a year.

Werner is a certified master court clerk with over 300 hours of specialized training.  She grew up in a small town south of Odessa and now lives in rural Tom Green County with her husband.

Werner says the best part of her job is dealing with the people who come to her office. “I enjoy serving the citizens.  Even in the hardest parts of the job, while I give everything that is required to this position, I also get something in return.  There is satisfaction in ensuring people are treated fairly and equally under the law.”

There are four Justices of the Peace in Tom Green County; one for each precinct.  Werner’s precinct one is roughly the northeast quadrant of the county.  Her office is in the Michael Brown Justice Center at 124 E. Harris.

Werner is running unopposed in the March Republican primary.  Werner says, “I feel that my conservative views make me an asset to the Republican Party as an elected official.  My entire life has taught me the sort of values that hard working, conservative folks hold.  These values serve us well in all walks of life and I bring those values to the walk of my life.”

Werner will face Democrat candidate Sally Ayana in the November general election.

Seems pretty rare you get an elected official in county government with this sort of experience and credentials. I'd say Precinct 1 is lucky to have this quality of person wanting to serve!
