Brenda Gunter Makes Her Candidacy for San Angelo Mayor Official

 

Brenda Gunter filed her candidacy for San Angelo mayor this afternoon, the second candidate to formalize such intentions in the May 6 City Council election.

Gunter was the fourth candidate to file for a place on the May ballot today, the first day for candidates to do so. Also on the ballot are the District 2, 4 and 6 seats. Winners in the election will serve four-year terms.

Those who filed their candidacies earlier in the day were:

  • Mayor – Tony Villarreal.
  • District 4 – Lucy Gonzales.
  • District 6 – Steve Hampton.

The filing period began today and continues through Feb. 17. Candidates file the necessary paperwork in the City Clerk’s office in Room 210 on the second floor of City Hall, 72 W. College Ave. The office is open from 8 a.m.-noon and from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
