Midland – Congressman Mike Conaway (TX-11) released the following statement upon learning that U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia passed away today:
“The Supreme Court has suffered a great loss today. Justice Scalia was a deeply respected scholar and a man of incredible integrity. Throughout his nearly three decades on the Supreme Court, Justice Scalia proved himself a fierce defender of the Constitution. Both his astute decisions and thoughtful dissents will continue to influence our nation for many years to come. Suzanne and I will be keeping Justice Scalia's family in our prayers as they mourn the loss of a truly outstanding man."
Scalia, 79, was found dead in his room at the Cibolo Creek Ranch resort south of Marfa Saturday.
