A survey conducted between April 21 and April 27 shows challenger and newcomer to San Angelo politics David Nowlin with a significant lead over incumbent Mayor Dwain Morrison. But Morrison’s support is increasing as election day approaches.
Exactly 520 participated in the poll that was an unscientific convenience sample of three sources. Nowlin, with 355 responses, is leading Morrison’s 165, or 68.27% to 31.73%.
Nowlin jumped to a higher lead within the first 24 hours of the poll, 76.84% to 23.16. There were 190 responses within the first 24 hours.
By April 26, Morrison was polling ahead of Nowlin, 53.28% to 47.62%. There were 21 responses on April 26.
The survey was conducted through SurveyMonkey.com. Invitations to participate were shown in the San Angelo LIVE! daily email, and two Facebook.com pages, San Angelo LIVE! and San Angelo Connection. Duplicate responses were discarded based upon browser cookies.
