70,000 Bluegill Sunfish Fingerlings Stocked in Brady Creek Reservoir

BRADY, TX — Brady Creek Reservoir was stocked with about 70,000 bluegill sunfish fingerlings Tuesday afternoon.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Inland Fisheries San Angelo Division stocks bodies of water around the Concho Valley.

There were also 39,000 Lone Star Bass fingerlings stocked in Brady Creek Reservoir in May.

Brady Creek Reservoir, which sits a few miles west of the town of Brady, has been slowly rebuilding after a golden alga bloom in 2012, along with several years of low water levels.

The lake’s fish population includes largemouth bass, crappie, catfish and white bass.

The fishing at Brady Creek Reservoir is rated as fair by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
