Two San Angelo Junior Anglers Catch Record Fish

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Two young anglers reeled in record fish recently in San Angelo.

Dayton Conaway caught a channel catfish at Metcalf Lake in San Angelo that weighed 8.65 pounds and was 29 inches in length.

Metcalf Lake is a section of the Concho River located near San Angelo Country Club below the Lake Nasworth Dam.

Nadia Hernandez caught a warmouth fish at Oakes Street Lake in the Concho River in downtown San Angelo.

Her fish weighed 0.35 pounds and was 7.5 inches in length.

Both are pending junior waterbody records, according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Inland Fisheries San Angelo District.
