SAN ANGELO, TX — Hot temperatures will grip the San Angelo region today and Monday before rain chances increase significantly midweek and slightly cooler conditions become possible, the National Weather Service said Sunday.
Highs are forecast to reach the mid- to upper 90s across much of the area Sunday, with some spots climbing into triple digits. San Angelo is expected to hit 95 degrees today and 94 Monday. Abilene will see 98 both days, while Haskell could reach 100 Sunday and 99 Monday. Sweetwater is forecast at 99 today and Monday, with most other communities in the 93-96 range.
Precipitation chances remain low through Monday, generally 10% or less. They will begin rising Tuesday before jumping to 55-65% Wednesday through Friday for most locations, including a 60% chance in San Angelo on Wednesday and Thursday. Probabilities stay elevated into Saturday at 40-55%.
The NWS said increasing rain chances and cooler temperatures are possible Wednesday through the end of the week, with highs trending into the upper 80s for many spots.
