SAN ANGELO, TX — A cold front will bring much cooler temperatures and gusty north winds to West Central Texas on Friday and Saturday, the National Weather Service in San Angelo said Friday.
A Wind Advisory is in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. CDT Friday for portions of the region. North winds are forecast to be sustained at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. The NWS urged residents to secure loose outdoor objects and to use caution while driving, especially those operating high-profile vehicles on east-west highways.
High temperatures on Friday will top out mostly in the low to mid-60s in San Angelo and the mid-50s to low 60s across much of the area before falling into the upper 40s and low 50s overnight, according to NWS forecasts. Conditions will remain cool Saturday with highs generally in the mid-50s. A slight chance of light rain exists this afternoon and tonight, though any rainfall amounts will be light.
Temperatures are expected to rebound sharply beginning Sunday as above-normal warmth returns through the work week. Highs are forecast to climb into the low to mid-80s on Sunday and reach the upper 80s to low 90s by early next week.
