Special Weather Alert Issued for Current Thunderstorm Impacting San Angelo

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A special weather alert has been issued by the National Weather Service for San Angelo and the greater Tom Green County.

A strong thunderstorm impacted San Angelo at around 2:25 p.m. on Friday afternoon and will continue to do so through 3 p.m. At 2:29 p.m., Doppler radar continued to track a strong thunderstorm over southwestern San Angelo, moving north at 15 miles per hour.

Wind gusts from 50 to 55 miles per hour are a hazard in the thunderstorm. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include San Angelo, O.C. Fisher Reservoir, Lake Nasworthy, and Goodfellow Air Force Base.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
