SAN ANGELO, TX — Warm and mostly dry conditions will continue across West Central Texas through early next week, according to the National Weather Service in San Angelo. High temperatures are expected to remain in the mid to upper 90s through Tuesday, with little to no rain in the forecast.
While most of the region will stay dry, forecasters noted a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms in the Big Country between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 2 a.m. Thursday. If storms do form, they could produce quarter-size hail and wind gusts up to 60 mph.
The severe weather risk is categorized as “marginal,” the lowest level on the NWS scale, and is limited in both coverage and intensity. An isolated storm may also develop farther south, but widespread precipitation is not expected.
Rain chances for San Angelo drop to near zero through the weekend. The hottest temperatures are forecast in Sweetwater and San Angelo, where highs could reach 98 degrees today.
