SAN ANGELO, TX — Local law enforcement agencies have issued multiple advisories Tuesday morning warning residents to avoid low water crossings and remain alert to potential flash flooding.
A Flood Advisory is in effect until 9:15 a.m. for Tom Green and surrounding counties, including Crockett, Irion, Schleicher, Sterling and Sutton. The advisory, shared by the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office, cites urban and small stream flooding and specifically highlights flooding risks along Interstate 10 between mile markers 381 and 432.
“Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads,” the alert stated.
The San Angelo Police Department also cautioned motorists to avoid all low-water crossings and advised that the westbound exit ramp from Loop 306 onto Knickerbocker Road is flooded and should be avoided.
