San Angelo State Park Offers Wildflower Walks, Guided Hikes Throughout May

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo State Park is offering a variety of outdoor events this May, including guided wildflower walks, sunset and moonlight hikes, and special interest treks like the Women’s Hike and “Just Around the Riverbend.”

The monthly schedule kicks off Sunday, May 4, with two wildflower walks: one at Chaparral Pavilion from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and another at the North Concho Parking Lot from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. A third wildflower walk is scheduled for Saturday, May 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Wildlife Viewing Blind.

On Sunday, May 11, a full moon hike will take place from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., beginning at the Playground Parking Lot.

Other featured events include:

  • “Just Around the Riverbend” on Saturday, May 17, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Riverbend Campground Restroom.

  • A sunset hike on Saturday, May 24, from 7:45 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Isabel Harte Boat Ramp Parking Lot.

  • A Women’s Hike on Sunday, May 25, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., also at the Riverbend Campground Restroom.

In addition to these events, bison and longhorn viewing is offered every Wednesday and Saturday at 9 a.m.
