SAN ANGELO, TX — The National Weather Service is forecasting mild temperatures and a slight chance of showers Friday east of the San Angelo area.
Highs on Friday are expected to reach the low to mid-80s, with south winds at 5 to 15 mph. Although a few showers may develop—mainly in the eastern parts of the region—most areas are likely to stay dry.

The weekend will bring warmer-than-normal temperatures, with highs climbing into the upper 80s to low 90s across West Central Texas. A cold front moving through Monday will briefly lower temperatures before they rebound midweek.

A marginal risk of severe weather is in place for Saturday night, particularly along and east of a line from Abilene to San Angelo to Sonora. The main threats from any storms that do form will be large hail and damaging winds, according to the weather service.
The forecast calls for continued above-normal temperatures through next Thursday.
