SAN ANGELO, TX — A temperature drop is expected next week across West Central Texas, with a moderate to high risk (40–60%) of below-normal temperatures on Thursday and Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
Lows are forecast to plunge into the upper teens and 20s this Thursday morning, with wind chills making it feel even colder. Areas along I-20 and in the Big Country could see temperatures between 18 and 22 degrees, while San Angelo and the Concho Valley will experience lows in the mid-to-upper 20s. Wind chills could range from 7 to 11 degrees in the Big Country and the teens in the Concho Valley. The high today will be in the low 40s.

The temperature fluctuations will continue into the following week. Forecasts show a sharp warm-up over the weekend, with highs reaching the 60s and 70s, before another cold front arrives, sending temperatures plummeting again by midweek. By Wednesday, highs in San Angelo are expected to drop to 39 degrees, with lows reaching the teens.
