SAN ANGELO, TX — A cold front moving into the Big Country on Wednesday will bring gusty winds followed by a cold snap Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service in San Angelo.
Winds are expected to shift west at 15 to 25 mph by late morning before turning northwest midday. Highs in the Big Country will reach the 50s before falling into the 40s by the afternoon. Areas south, including San Angelo, will see highs in the 60s to lower 70s before the front arrives.

Overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning, temperatures will plummet into the 20s, with wind chills making it feel even colder. The Big Country could see wind chill values between 8 and 15 degrees, while the Concho Valley and Heartland regions will experience temperatures in the teens.

By early next week, temperatures will fluctuate widely, with highs ranging from the 40s on Thursday to the 70s by Saturday before cooling again. Several cold fronts are expected to pass through the region, according to the National Weather Service.
