Cloudy and Cool Today, Rain and Thunderstorms Expected by Wednesday Night

SAN ANGELO, TX — Patchy fog this morning will give way to cloudy skies with a high near 52 in San Angelo today, according to the National Weather Service.

A 30% chance of showers moves in after midnight, with temperatures dropping to around 48 degrees overnight. San Angelo has a marginal risk for severe weather Wednesday late afternoon through Thursday morning. The main hazards are damaging winds and hail.

By Wednesday, rain chances increase to 50% during the day, with highs reaching 63 degrees. The heaviest rainfall is expected Wednesday night, when an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms could bring between a quarter and half an inch of rain to the area.

While severe weather is expected east of San Angelo, where strong winds and hail are possible, the main concern locally will be steady rain and potential travel impacts through Thursday morning. Areas east of a Haskell-to-Ballinger-to-Junction line have a 30-50% chance of at least an inch of rain.
