SAN ANGELO, TX — A cold front moving through the region tonight is expected to drop temperatures, with lows falling below freezing in parts of the Big Country and northern Concho Valley by early Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
The front will enter the area around 7 p.m. and continue southward, reaching the Brownwood to Sonora line by midnight. Temperatures in San Angelo are predicted to dip to 35°F, with winds shifting to the north at 5 to 15 mph. For locations south of the Brownwood-Sonora line, there is a low 30% chance of isolated rain showers after midnight.
The extended forecast shows temperatures rebounding slightly after the weekend. Daytime highs will reach the upper 40s to mid-50s Sunday and Monday before climbing above seasonal averages midweek, with highs nearing 70°F in some locations by Wednesday.
Chances of precipitation are expected to increase in the latter half of the week, with rain probabilities peaking at 65% for the San Angelo area on Thursday. The early part of the week will remain dry, offering a brief respite from the wet weather.
