SAN ANGELO, TX — Anglers in San Angelo can enjoy freshly stocked rainbow trout at multiple locations this winter, courtesy of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
Javelina Draw at San Angelo State Park and Foster Park were stocked on Wednesday as part of the state’s 2024-2025 rainbow trout stocking program.
In total, more than 4,700 trout will be delivered to San Angelo waters this season, including:
- Javelina Draw (San Angelo State Park): A total of 500 trout will be stocked this season, with 250 added during each event. The first stocking occurred on Dec. 19, 2024, with the second happening on Jan. 15, 2025.
- Foster Park: A total of 1,600 trout will be stocked, split into two events of 800 each, in December 2024 and January 2025.
- Oakes Street: This location will see four stockings, totaling 2,656 trout for the season. Events began in November 2024 and will continue through February 2025.
San Angelo is among the key cities benefiting from TPWD’s efforts to enhance fishing opportunities, with a total of 25,440 trout to be stocked across 12 locations in the San Angelo District. Other nearby sites include Knierim Park in Bronte and Ruddick Park in Colorado City.
