Rainbow Trout Stocked in Concho River, Next Round Set for January

SAN ANGELO, TX — Rainbow trout have been stocked in the Concho River in downtown San Angelo, according to Inland Fisheries San Angelo District.

The next scheduled stocking for the area is planned for January 24, 2025.

The winter trout stocking program is part of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s efforts to enhance fishing opportunities across West Texas. The program includes 14 locations in the San Angelo District, with 25,440 rainbow trout set to be stocked during the 2024-2025 season, contingent on adequate water quality and supply.

Foster Park will receive a stocking on January 15. San Angelo State Park’s Javalina Draw Pond will also see a stocking on January 15.
