West Texas Sees Warmer Weather Ahead of Christmas

SAN ANGELO, TX – Temperatures across West Texas are set to rise into the lower to mid-70s today, providing unseasonably warm and dry conditions for the holiday week.

The National Weather Service in San Angelo forecasts breezy conditions, with south winds ranging from 15 to 25 mph. While mostly cloudy skies are expected in the morning, sunshine will dominate the afternoon, further contributing to the warm weather.

Looking ahead to Christmas Eve, temperatures will cool slightly, with lows in the upper 40s to mid-50s and highs in the mid to upper 60s. A 20-30% chance of showers is possible across areas like the Heartland and Northwest Hill Country, with San Saba and Brown counties seeing a low risk of thunderstorms.

Christmas Day is expected to bring even cooler overnight lows, ranging from the low to mid-40s, but daytime highs will still be pleasant, reaching the upper 60s to lower 70s. Mostly sunny skies will make for ideal conditions for outdoor holiday activities.
