Colder Weather, Freeze Expected in San Angelo Area This Week

SAN ANGELO, TX – San Angelo and surrounding areas should prepare for colder temperatures and a possible freeze as a cold front moves through the region starting Monday.

The National Weather Service forecasts highs in the mid-70s for Monday ahead of the cold front.

However, temperatures are expected to drop by Tuesday evening, with lows reaching 29 degrees in San Angelo. Freezing conditions are most likely early Wednesday morning.

Gusty northwest winds will accompany the front as it progresses through the Big Country this afternoon. Highs in the Big Country will range from the mid-60s to the low 70s, with mostly sunny skies before the colder air sets in.

The cooler weather is expected to last into the weekend, with gradual warming beginning Friday.

Residents are advised to prepare for freezing conditions and protect sensitive plants, pipes, and pets ahead of Wednesday morning.
