Big Bend Opens Applications for 2025 Artist Residency

BIG BEND NATIONAL PARK, TX - Big Bend National Park is accepting applications for its Summer 2025 Artist-in-Residence program, offering selected artists a unique opportunity to create amid the park’s landscapes.

The program, supported by the Big Bend Natural History Association, provides housing and a 2- to 4-week residency for artists working in various mediums, including painting, sculpture, photography, writing, music, and dance. Participants are required to host one public program during their stay but otherwise have time to focus on their craft.

Applications will be open from Dec. 1, 2024, to Jan. 31, 2025. A panel of park staff and association representatives will select five to six artists based on their statement of intent, outreach plans, and submitted work. Final decisions will be announced by March 1, 2025.
