Warmer Today, Severe Storms Possible Thursday

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The National Weather Service forecasts warmer weather across West Central Texas today, with temperatures reaching the mid-70s to lower 80s under clear skies. South winds will range from 10 to 15 mph, with occasional higher gusts.

Overnight, temperatures are expected to drop to the upper 40s to mid-50s, accompanied by mostly clear skies and southeast winds between 5 and 10 mph.

A marginal risk of severe thunderstorms is forecasted for Thursday afternoon and evening. The storms may bring damaging winds up to 60 mph, quarter-sized hail, and localized heavy rain, with a brief weak tornado possible in isolated areas.

Rain chances increase from Thursday morning through Friday night, with the potential for at least 2 inches of rainfall in some areas, which may lead to localized flooding.
