SAN ANGELO, TX — A line of strong to severe thunderstorms is expected to move through San Angelo and surrounding areas Monday morning, with all severe weather hazards in play, according to the National Weather Service in San Angelo.
Damaging winds, large hail, and an isolated tornado are possible from late morning to early afternoon, with localized heavy rainfall expected in some areas.
The NWS released a marginal risk warning for San Angelo and nearby regions, while areas to the north and east, including Abilene and Brownwood, are under a slight risk for severe weather. The main hazards include wind gusts up to 60 mph and hail up to the size of golf balls. Residents are urged to secure outdoor items and avoid windows during the storm.
The weather outlook also highlights an increased chance of rain starting late Thursday and continuing into Saturday morning, with the highest precipitation levels anticipated in the Big Country and Heartland areas.
Rain probabilities peak on Thursday, with up to a 75% chance of rain in some locations, such as Brownwood and Coleman.
The NWS forecast for the week predicts mild high temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s, with overnight lows cooling to the mid-40s.
