Scattered Showers and Severe Weather Expected for San Angelo Area

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Scattered showers and thunderstorms are anticipated across the San Angelo area Friday afternoon and evening, with conditions turning more severe into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

A slight risk of severe weather exists for Saturday, with damaging winds up to 60 mph and quarter-sized hail possible.

Two rounds of storms are expected: one in the early morning hours and another later in the evening. There is a slight chance of an isolated tornado.

Alongside the severe weather risk, the region may experience locally heavy rainfall, especially in areas north of Interstate 20. Rainfall totals could reach 2 to 3 inches, with flash flooding possible in low-lying areas, streets, and streams.

Temperatures in San Angelo are expected to reach around 80°F on Friday, with winds coming from the southeast at 5 to 15 mph. The weekend will continue with rain chances, peaking Saturday night, before drier conditions return Monday. Temperatures will cool slightly, with highs in the mid-70s forecasted by early next week.
