San Angelo State Park Announces Multiple Trail and Camping Closures

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - San Angelo State Park will close several trails and camping areas throughout the upcoming months, according to an alert from the state park. 

The closures are scheduled to accommodate permitted hunting and other activities. 

The first closure will begin on Oct. 26 at 5 p.m. and extend until Oct. 30 at 8 a.m. During this time, all trails, along with the Riverbend, Red Arroyo, and Isabel Harte camping areas, will be inaccessible to visitors.

Additionally, trails north of the Burkett Trailhead, as well as the Bald Eagle and North Concho camping areas, will be closed on the following dates:

  • Nov. 28 at 5 p.m. to Dec. 2 at 8 a.m.
  • Jan. 20 at 5 p.m. to Jan. 24 at 8 a.m.
  • Mar. 30 at 5 p.m. to Apr. 4 at 8 a.m.

Further closures affecting trails north of the Burkett Trailhead are set for:

  • Nov. 4 at 5 p.m. to Nov. 8 at 8 a.m.
  • Dec. 2 at 5 p.m. to Dec. 6 at 8 a.m.

Only permitted hunters will be allowed in the park during these periods.
