San Angelo Sees Zero Rainfall So Far in October Amid Warming Trend

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Despite October historically being one of the wettest months, San Angelo and Abilene have recorded zero rainfall as of October 17, according to the National Weather Service.

With no rain in the forecast, the area remains unusually dry while experiencing a warming trend.

Today, breezy conditions are expected across San Angelo, with southeast winds ranging from 10 to 20 mph and higher gusts. Afternoon highs will reach the upper 70s to low 80s, with mostly cloudy skies clearing later in the day.

The warming trend is forecast to continue into next week, with temperatures rising 10 to 15 degrees above normal by midweek. Highs could reach 90°F in San Angelo, Sweetwater, and Abilene, with little to no rain expected during this period.

Looking ahead, the NWS predicts a winter with above-normal temperatures and below-normal precipitation as a weak La Niña develops, which could extend the dry conditions through early 2025.
