Scorching Heat Continues Across West Central Texas

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – West central Texas is set to endure another sweltering day as temperatures soar across the region. 

According to the National Weather Service in San Angelo, temperatures are expected to climb to highs ranging from the upper 90s to over 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Cities including San Angelo, Sterling City, and Abilene are forecasted to reach highs of 103 degrees, while areas like Haskell and Newcastle will see temperatures around 102 degrees. The heatwave also extends to Snyder at 101 degrees and Mertzon at 101 degrees.

The National Weather Service predicts mostly sunny skies with south winds blowing at 5 to 15 mph, occasionally gusting higher. These conditions will contribute to the intense heat but will be accompanied by mostly clear skies.

The extended forecast shows a continuation of the hot weather through midweek, with temperatures consistently hitting the upper 90s to low 100s:

  • Tuesday: Morning lows in the low to mid-70s, highs reaching 105 degrees. Mostly sunny with southwest winds at 10 to 15 mph, gusting up to 25 mph.
  • Wednesday: Morning lows in the low to upper 70s, highs peaking at 103 degrees. Mostly sunny with south winds at 10 to 15 mph, gusting up to 25 mph.
  • Thursday: Morning lows in the low to mid-70s, highs in the upper 90s to low 100s. Partly cloudy with south winds turning north behind a front, bringing a chance for showers and thunderstorms.
  • Friday: Morning lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s, highs in the low to upper 90s. Partly to mostly cloudy with northeast winds at 5 to 10 mph, and a chance for showers and thunderstorms.
  • Saturday: Morning lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s, highs in the low to upper 90s. Partly to mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms and northeast winds at 5 to 10 mph.
