SAN ANGELO, TX - The National Weather Service (NWS) in San Angelo has issued an extended forecast for the upcoming days, highlighting hot temperatures for the weekend.
Extended Forecast:
- Today: A 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 a.m. Mostly sunny with a high near 97°F. South-southwest winds 5-15 mph.
- Tonight: Mostly clear with a low of around 67°F. South-southwest winds 5-10 mph.
- Friday: Sunny and hot with a high near 99°F. Southwest winds around 5 mph, shifting to the northwest in the afternoon.
- Friday Night: Mostly clear with a low around 65°F. Winds shifting to east-northeast in the evening.
- Saturday: Sunny and hot with a high near 101°F. Southwest winds 5-10 mph, gusting up to 20 mph.
- Saturday Night: Clear with a low of around 70°F. Southwest winds 5-10 mph, gusting up to 20 mph.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning Nearing End
A severe thunderstorm warning was put into effect this morning until 9:30 a.m. for northeastern Tom Green, southeastern Coke, and southwestern Runnels counties. At 8:57 a.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near Orient, moving east at 35 mph, bringing quarter-size hail and potential vehicle damage. Affected locations include Orient at 9 a.m., Miles and Tennyson at 9:05 a.m., and Rowena at 9:20 a.m.
Earlier, a strong thunderstorm was tracked near Carlsbad at 8:22 a.m., moving east at 30 mph, with wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel-sized hail.
