SAN ANGELO, TX - The National Weather Service has issued tornado watch number "286" in effect until 8 p.m.
This watch includes 15 counties in West Central Texas:

- Runnels
- San Saba
- Schleicher
- Sterling
- Sutton
- Tom Green
This Includes The Cities Of Arden, Baird, Ballinger, Barnhart, Benoit, Brady, Bronte, Broome, Brownwood, Carlsbad, Chappel, Cherokee, Clyde, Coleman, Crews, Cross Plains, Dudley, Echo, Eden, Eldorado, Erna, Eula, Fife, Fisk, Fort Mckavett, Harkeyville, Hatchel, Hext, Indian Creek, Live Oak, Lohn, Lowake, Menard, Mertzon, Ozona, Pumphrey, Robert Lee, Rochelle, Rowena, San Angelo, San Saba, Sanco, Sherwood, Silver, Sonora, Sterling City, Tennyson, Trickham, Valera, Voca, Voss, Wall, And Winters.
Weather radar at 12:45 p.m. shows a line of thunderstorms developing southwest of Abilene and moving to the northeast.
That line could expand southward with afternoon high temperatures.
Mathis Field forecast for this afternoon is for thunderstorms in the vicinity and cumulonimbus cloud build-ups starting at 4 p.m.
By 5 p.m. the airport weather worsens with moderate rain, thunderstorms, mist, and cumulonimbus buildups continuing.
Weather is forecasted to clear by 9 p.m. tonight. Winds have shifted, too. Usually during the summer, winds are out of the south at a brisk 10-20 knots. During this weather event, winds have shifted to be out of the northeast at 10 knots.
