SAN ANGELO, Texas – A Rangeland Fire Danger Statement has been issued for the western half of our area, alongside a Red Flag Warning for Crockett County, effective from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. this afternoon. These warnings come as elevated to critical fire weather conditions are anticipated to prevail through the weekend.

According to forecasts, the western Big Country, Concho Valley, and Northern Edwards Plateau regions will experience heightened fire risks due to dry conditions and breezy winds. Residents are urged to exercise caution and adhere to fire safety guidelines.

Looking ahead, there's a chance for thunderstorms on Monday afternoon into Tuesday, with isolated strong to severe storms possible. However, before the potential showers, expect today to be sunny with a high near 86 degrees Fahrenheit.
