SAN ANGELO, TX – The Angelo State University Bass Anglers are hosting there "Big 5 Team Tournament" this Sunday, April 7.
The club is inviting other anglers to compete at either Lake Nasworthy or Twin Buttes. The event is open to the public and is designed as a fundraiser for the university's bass anglers, with a portion of the entry fees supporting the club.
Participants can enter the competition with a $150 entry fee per boat, with the option to fish solo or as a team. Of the entry fee, $100 contributes to the main pot, $30 qualifies competitors for the big bass prize, and $20 goes directly to the ASU Bass Anglers.
The tournament will begin with lines in the water at 7 a.m., and anglers must have lines out by 3 p.m.
Competitors need to be in line for the weigh-in by 4 p.m. at the Twin Buttes Main Ramp, or they face disqualification.
The weigh-in process will determine the winners, with cash prizes on the line: $1,000 for first place, $600 for second, and $400 for third.
The angler who catches the largest bass will receive a prize pack including a rod and reel, assuming a minimum participation of 20 boats.

In-person registration will be held on Saturday, April 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Beaty Ramp, and on the day of the tournament, Sunday, April 7, from 5 to 7:30 a.m. at either the Beaty Ramp or Twin Buttes main ramp.
